Digital photography has had many positive aspects for consumers. It has allowed people to connect and share images easier than ever before through the uses of email, social media and websites.

It is cheaper for consumers to produce digital photographs, rather than film photographs, as the are not required to purchase photographic film. Digital photographs can now be produced quicker and in large masses for consumers.

Consumers can also instantly view their photographs, whereas film photographs had to be developed before viewing. Photographers can now store all their digital photographs on a single SD memory card, allowing them to view all of their photographs in the one place.

There are however some negative impacts of digital photographs. They are very easily manipulated, allowing editors of magazines, newspapers, and other media forms, to edit the photographs to appear different to the original images. Photographers also have to charge and carry extra batteries for their digital cameras.
